Greyson’s sleeping and Bible reading habits!

So, since we moved to Spring Hill (and while we were packing up our house in Cincy) Grey has been majorly struggling with going to sleep at night. I feel like we did a great job of getting him on a schedule and transitioning him to sleeping in his own little toddler bed (you can read all about this on my wife’s blog. I am not sure how much the changes and recent transition have played into Grey’s crazy night-time breakdowns….but we are trying our best to move past this phase! So, a couple nights ago I told Grey that if he couldn’t sleep that he could read his Bible (but he had to stay in bed). After about 20 minutes of hearing him talk in his bed and 15 minutes of silence, we went to check on him and found him totally asleep in this position:

As a parent who is a follower of Jesus, I have to be pumped that Grey loves the Bible; yet, I am a little worried that he fell asleep before he finished the creation story!

Belated Thank You’s

There are lots of folks that I owe a major “Thank You” to, but none more than the 3 people whose Thank You Notes from my wedding (about 5 years ago now) I just recently found! I wrote these notes within a week of getting back from my honeymoon, but somehow they never got sent.

The best part about this is that Lindsey asked me if I wrote these 3 thank you’s (I was only responsible for writing 5 or 6…Lindz had the rest), and I most confidently told her that they were written…now she knows to ask me if I have written and mailed my thank you notes! I can’t wait to hear from the 3 people who are about to find their thank you note in the mail…5 years after they gave us a wedding gift!

Now, I must add that my follow through on stuff like this is much, much better today than it was when Lindz and I got hitched!

I’m pumped that the Pittsburgh Steelers took home the Win tonight! This song by Wiz Khalifa (a rapper from Pitt) gives me chills (as a Steeler fan), and it puts a smile on my face (when I see the one Caucasian brother celebrating 33 seconds into the clip)!

Here’s to the close victory over the Ravens tonight!

An upgrade…

Not too long after earning a good salary at my first job, I purchased my dream car! It was a 1977 Ford Bronco…check it out:

At the time, I wasn’t married and I had plenty of disposable income! However, when I decided that I was going to ask Lindsey to marry me, I had to re-evaluate my budget (and come up with some extra cash to pay for her engagement ring and our honeymoon). So, I made the tough choice to sell my dream car and upgrade to my dream woman. An awesome marriage, 2 kids, and an a few years later, it is obvious that giving up my Bronco was well worth it! Maybe some day I will buy another old Bronco, but until then I am content rolling in my Cavy!
